Whenever I see this picture, it reminds me my bad day with tiger airline..I remember my flight back to KL was scheduled at 5 sharp. As usual I arrived the airport an hour early to ensure everything went smoothly. Things did not go as smoothly as expected!! Tiger airline got things messed up!! A plane that can only fits 200 passengers had 220 passengers checking into the plane!! That means extra 20 passengers have to stay behind for the next flight..
The reason given was that tiger airline tried to bring in some of the passengers who missed the flight the day before yesterday!! This is a joke!! The system miscalculate number of passengers for the flight? Or the staffs there were trying their luck hoping that 20 passengers will miss the flight?
Nevertheless I waited for 2 hours for the management staffs to sort out the problem..the solution came out by the "brilliant" manager was to wait for 20 volunteers to take the last flight of the day which was 11 pm. Come one who is going to take up the offer?? Until the management people finally agree to come up with an incentive package by offering dinner and 200 sgd worth of ticket voucher!! That also took them one hour to come up with 20 volunteers. I remember there was a lady proposing to the manager to cut off the last 20 passengers registered to the system. It was however rejected!!
The plane finally took off at 7.30pm and I landed KL at 8.30p.m...I almost missed my appointment on that night!! The horror experience did not stop here...
The flight back to Singapore was on Monday morning 10.30 am..Knowing and assuming how tiger loves to mess up the schedule, I decided I reach there 45 minutes before the flight..To my horror..damn the check-in counter was deserted!! 6 passengers including myself missed the flight!! According to some witnesses, the counter was closed an hour before the flight and all the crew left the counter and boarded the plane at LCCT!! I tried calling the headquarter but nothing can be done!! I even tried to ask for the police officers and the security guards if they can contact them!!
But what can you expect from them!! "Sorry, we cannot do anything" Not even an effort!!
I ended up buying myself another ticket from Air Asia and flew back to singapore angrily. I wrote a letter to them (Tiger management) but they said that passenger needed to be check in 2 hours before the flight and hence they will not compensate on the lost!! My bad experience with Tiger airways, I will remember for quite some time..if there is an option, I recommended to take Air Asia!! Air Asia will try to check in their passenger even 20 minutes sharp before the flight!! At least you can see Air Asia staffs around!! Tiger airways staff will disappear 45 minutes before the flight!! So beware!!
